page eight stouffville ontario thursday january 5 1939 stouffville juniors lose close game to markham stouffville junior hockeyists were considerably more glorious in their overtime defeat at the hands of markham on tuesday night than when they absorbed a 72 shilacking down in the markham arena last thursday on the play both teams app- ered equally entitled to the win but the dice fell to markham 32 stouffville showed their best burst of ability during the first period when they continually bottled markham up in their own end of the ice land were purely outlucked on their scor ing chances ivan goudie new ly recruited wingman on the lotfal lineup proved to be the shining light of this opening stouffville onslaught when he banged home harpers pass from the corner for the first counter markham came right back in the midsession and were just four minutes tying it up in the overtime the visitors had a slight edge on the play and took the lead at the three minute mark just five minutes later joe austin got his stick on a pass directly in front ot the markham goal and taking plenty of time rriade no mistake in laying the rubber in the cor ner this brilliant success was shortlived however as with only seconds to play markham hung up another to take the decision 32 stouffville squad showed con siderable improvement and a combination that has hitherto been lacking the two new faces goudie on the second line and grossmith on defence proved strengthening factors mark ham club are certainly an im provement over their last year winless aggregation and will be a speedy crowd to be reckoned with before the schedule ends hockey aplenty seems to be in store for fans in these parts this winter no less than threee leagues are operating in the vicinity and stouffville directly traceable to poorly bred poorly hatched disease infested stock with this fact in mind we have decided to in troduce and make available to our district a line of chicks which could be relied upon to give results after several years of observation we have decided that the one brand of chicks which we could unhesitatingly hand out to our customers was seilings produced by the elmira farms and hatchery of elmira ontario when you place your order for selling chicks you are guaranteed a 100 per cent count at 21 days of age you get chicks from a farm where the blood test this season was only four reactors in 10000 birds and where high production is obtained as a matter of course ask us for pricelist and any other informa tion which you desire without obligation and you are on the way
