horns honk ing cans trailing and what-have- you flying in the air with all this fun we have no quarrel but when the rate of speed of such a procession reaches the speed some of them do it is time for police intervention we have seen them rash through traffic at 40 miles an hour and there is no excuse for this a noisy parade is accepted in the spirit the participants carry it out but they should not lose their heads to the extent that the pro cession becomes a dangerous thing it would spoil the happy occasion if some youngster were killed by a car taking part in such a procession lets have a other day the scribe met ralph jones of altona up at musselmans lake and he de clared it was the first time ho had seen the place since cottag ers started to build homes there that is probably 20 years and when you think of it what a change there has been in that time from barren fields at that time to a community of around 1000 people in residence for the two summer months is certain ly an amazing thing the place also has modern grocery store and perhaps the largest and fin est dance hall in all ontario- of course ralph didnt try it out but it was something to look at a local lady who missed the train in toronto one evening last week was feeling very dis appointed about the matter but when on leaving the depot she discovered two other ladies who were rushing to catch the same train the situation somehow didnt seem so bad the old saying that misery likes com pany seems to have something in it these three ladies two bound for stouffville and one for uxbridge all declared the train pulled out a few minutes ahead of time the timetable says the train leaves toronto at a quarter to five its a good thing to have a minute or two to spare when planning to catch a train and especially so if as the women say they pulled out a little ahead of schedule a double honour last week when this paper stated that stouffville lol won the prize for having the best lodge in the parade at
