son george of toronto cele brated a birthday on the same day mrs drewery was showered with numerous gifts which told of the love and esteem in which she is held by her children the teatable was very attractive centred with a birthday cake which had been very beautifully decorated hy one of the guests mr o burkholder despite her age and recent mis hap of a hip fracture mrs drewery is very bright and active and is able to attend to household duties we hope she will enjoy many more happy birthday celebrations with her family miss a drewery and mrs e cook left on tuesday evening for toronto where they will spend a few days before leaving for their home in saskatchewan they were accom panied by their mother mrs wm drewery who will spend a short time at the home of her son in toronto after an illness of some months mr james stewart one of the most highly respected residents of the roseville district passed away at his home ou saturday october 31st 1936 and uncle to miss sadie took place to goodwood cemetery ou monday november 2nd 1936 ser vices being held at his late residence by rev wm kendall assisted by rev thomas summers ot toronto a nephew james was a brother to the late wm stewart who died at stouffville in his 90th year iu april 1936 and under to miss sadie stewart the lata james stewart says the uxbridge timesjournal was born on the 4th concession of uxbridge and when a young man journeyed to australia where he spent several years and from there to the yukon from where he returned to settle down near his old birthplace he married miss hannah summers ot east york and a filled church witnessed the splendid pageant pre sented by the newmarket yps in tho evening owing to a fowl supper held in aurora united church on tues day our usual yps was held on wednesday night this week rev mr snell of aurora was the guesl speaker and special music was furnished by our orchestra this is the first of the attendance contest come next tuesday night and bring your friends a highly respected and litelong resident of claremout was duntan m morgan who passed to his rest iu st michaels hospital toronto on wednesday october 28th as re ported in the tribune briefly last week deceased had been in failing health for some time and was taken to the hospital about two weeks prior to his death which followed a major surgical operation he was born in claremout 76 years ago the eldest sou of the late alexander morgan and was the last surviving member of a family of three sons and four daughters his entire life had been spent iu the village and on his farm on the townline just north of it he was a man widely known throughout the county as in earlier life he had taken an active part iu municipal affairs and was at one time reeve of uxbridge town ship also an exwarden of ontario county at the time of his death he was a director of the maple leaf in surance company which position he had held for several years other positions held hy the late mr mor gan at time of death
