peoples meet ing 730 pm evangelistic service rev and mrs teasdale ot ohio musicians and singers on saturday afternoon july 4th the descendants of the late mr and mrs samuel raster met for their annual reunion at the home of mr and mrs d e bolender of bethes- da the reunion was well attended by members of the kaster clan from kitchener new dundee petersburg elmira toronto and local friends a dinner was served at 1 oclock the following officers were elected president ben brubacker of elmira vicepresident norman kaster of petersberg secytreas herbert kaster of petersburg committee mrs lloyd diefenbacker peters berg ed elby of kitchener mrs sam sehraue of plaisvme and ouui schwass of new dundee there was u line program followed by races and sports mrs hiram alsop dead lifelong resident of the district east ot stouffviue mrs hiram alsop died at her home on the third con cession oxbridge pickering town line on sunday july 12 in her 7sth year she had been ill only three weeks and the extreme heat no doubt hastened her death born in uxbridge twp her maiden name was ellen swain and she i the last of the family she married hiram alsop who pre deceased her just a year ago in may they had lived 40 years on the place where she died an only son roy and two daughter mrs v curtis toronto and mrs h topper survive rev i brubacker preached the funeral service on tuesday before a large number of old friends and sympathizers of the family barley product ion the 1935 barley crop in ontario was the largest since 1930 and is estimated at 1gs41000 bushels in 1934 the production was 14- 741700 bushels the acreage was increased from 4s4000 acres to 523000 acres and the yield per acre tit 322 bushels was 18 bush els higher than in the previous year from the 1935 canadian crop about former resident of this place passed away and is buried at the heise hill cemetery tuesday afternoon a car load of young people spent the weekend attending tent meet ings in nottawa in oharge of eld j steckley who recently returned from beulah college california after an absence of a few weeks word was received from mr and mrs jos cober and son harold who let on a motor trip in company with cyral burry and miss ella baker from collingwood to north west their first stop was at montville then webbwood visiting friends there then to fort william where among others they visited with mr and mrs levi stover and family old school mates strange to say after spending the evening together talking over old times till late at night they retired only to wake up to find mrstover very ill he had taken a strode near morning and died a few minutes after seven am just a short time previous to this a niece of mrs stovers had gone up in an airoplane for a ride when some tiling went wrong and the pilot had to come down the girl was fatally hurt and died the funeral which had been arranged for saturday was a double funeral which seemed very sad and was largely attended next stop of the cobers will be
