was no scrapping either a huge witch of massive proportions took first prize and also told your fortune when you visited her in the cave with such a crowd it was difficult to carry out the program meeting which celebrated the 40th anniver sary of the wms in bethesda the front of the church was prettily decorated with house plants autumn llowers and artificial bouquets directly in front of the pulpit was placed a three story cake with forty tinv pink candles on it which later were lighted by mrs d snider and mrs a andrews the cake was made by mirs wni hunt mr mcewen was chairman of the en service was the great invitation a well chosen text and his sermon was certainly in spiring yes halloween is over and glad are we to state but really now that earthquake was bad as sure as fate and ot how thankful we should be as people in a country grand to know we did not suffer loss and still are here allowed to stand with homes unharmed though much alarmed were people far and wide were pleased to know that we must he on higher powers side for things like that are sent from one who knows our faults and failing too so perhaps its just a warning that finer things we ibetter do and see if that
