conducts a fruit orchard in california growing principally oranges and peaches these must be worrisome days for tho members of the local school board who have just emerged from a rather nasty situation with the public school teachers only to be forced into a jam over the high school staff to one on the street with an ear to the ground it could ibo readyily seen that there is a growing discontent over tho pro gress of the continuation school parents claim that repeated com plaints to board members fall on deaf ears this came to a head on saturday when a delegation of parents hearing the board was in special session waited on them and voiced their complaints as briefly re ported on the front page there la no doubt that teachers aro blamed for a groat deal of the failure of pupils which is not their fault and may be fairly laid at the door of the pupils and parents themselves nevertheless when the unrest grows to proportions as wo see it the situa tion should bo investigated by tho board with more than 20 pupils dropping from tho classes during tho term and parents declaring that if tho board fall to rectify the alleg ed inefficiency of the staff they will send their children to some other school we can truly say that tho trustees hayo our sympathy in fair ness to the teachers as well as tho parents prompt action on tho part of rev chester o summer will preach his
