unemployed man of the district when on saturday afternoon he shot down one brush wolf aud wounded a second animal hertle was stand ing leaning against a tree when the pair came into view a short distance away about a half mile south of tho cashel corner when he shot the first animal he only wounded it badly and the mate in its frenzy tried to carry it away but hertle ran up and killed the wolf with a club the other one stood some distance and snarled at him ho only had one shot left and fired this at the lone beast but his aim was not good and with the report of the gun the wolf fled attended tho graduation service of the toronto baptist seminary last thursday night in the jarvis street church our attention has ibeen called to the death of a former resident of this locality in the passing of mrs andrew halg at tho home of her soninlaw at oshawa where she had resided for somo time when her lato husband was in active life tho family lived at ringwood on the basset farm and they wore promi nent and consistent members of tho prosbyterian church instouffvilletho mission socioty there named their band after miss imary halg who is now on mission work in the east and mary halg
