return journey to the coast the death of dr fergus black which occurred on saturday last at vancouver removed a man who practised medicine in uxbridge and later in stouffville over 40 years ago hut who is well remembered by somo of those who resided here in those days dr black passed away in his 03rd year and was one of the oldest graduates of toronto uni versity when in stouffville he re sided in the east end and left here to take over a practice at port col- borne he wont to the coast ten years ago and is survived by one son norman and one daughter mary who is the librarian at fort william feature of tho program was a very fine address given by miss darrach a returned missionary of toronto miss darroch was a member of the china inland mission for many years and it is only during the past year that she permanently gave up her work there during the course of her address she gave a vivid description of tho daily life of a missionary in that part of china the labors of her and her coworker covered a radius of thirty miles and their only vehicle for transportation was a wheel barrow at one time they were captured by a bandit army and held for five weeks before the govern ment
