rev c o sommer was on a fishing trip last week to hawk lake where he hoped to sample some of our ontario trout that he might draw comparison with the elusive beauties caught in the waters of nova scotia with which he is mov familiar the preacher and his wife were accompanied by mr and mrs allan olosson and instead of samp ling our fish they had only a chance to sample one of our coveted birds in the form of a partridge more or less disappointed with the indiffer ence of the trout to nibble just a little the party were returning home when a big partridge came full blast against the windshield of the car scattering glass in every direction and the winged one itself falling prostrate in the lap of one of the passengers as though it had willingly offered itself as a sacrifice as it were to appease the fishermen for the uncanny action of the trout at hawk lake if tlie fishing didnt offer any thrills the youth ful pastor is satisfied that the epi sode of the bird certainly mado up
