stouffville where mr rae was identified with the b s telephone co as accountant and remained here until a year after airs rae died when his son came to stouffville in 1928 the father also returned the late robt rae had sterling qualities a true christian and leader in the community taking a special interest in boys work he established a boy scout movement here some fifteen years ago that had a worthy objective and a lasting effect on the young men of that time the boys had club rooms in the block west of the mansion house and under mr raes supervision made the furni ture etc required for it the rev a mclellan assisted by the rev mr harden of goodwood why leave 8th with snow banks during the heavy snow over the week end the provincial snowplough operated on the provincial roadway between langstatf and markham village and from unionville south over the kennedy road this latter road is not a provincial highway al though the provincial plow kept it free of snow for all traffic now what we want to know is why did not the provincial plow come north from markham village to stouffville where the road was neglected and allowed to fill in so that the bus traffic was suspendod if the provincial snow plow was able to leave the provincial road and clean the kennedy road there is no reason why the same plow could not have cleaued all the county road to stouffville here is something the reeve and council might look into stouffville is a part ot the county highway just as much as the ken nedy road and should be accorded the same treatment among the churches jubilee chapter oes
