whereas the township of uxbrldge has not received any taxes on said lands since it was taken overby the county and as said land is situated about equally in school section no 3 and 11 of said town ship and as the loss of school rates on this land makes it hard on the school supporters in said sections and as we do not receive any re venue from those lands ttfwards keeping up the roads around it and as we are informed that other coun ties are paying the school rates on their reforestation lands therefore this the council of the township of uxbrldge respectfully requests that in future the county of ontario pay at least the school rates on the above mentioned property we consider that a small amount as in future when any revenue is derived from said lands in the way of sale of timber ville coming out an the top side of a 4 to 3 victory ater onehalf hour of gruelling oyertiine play never from the first drop of the gutfa percha did the contest become dnersided until after eleven oclock when the victors were finally declared so exciting was the contest that even the spec tators were exhausted wienthe final gong rang the first stanza went tthrough without either side notching coun ter but in the second periad stouff ville bounced the rubber between the markham goal on a nice team play the visitors quickly came back with two goals but just before the gong rang ken ireesor evened up the scoje again two all the third stanza was a nonscore period like the first with stouffville having a little the best of the play but were ineffective in gett ing to the nets three periods of overtime of ten minutes eah were required to finish the game the first ten produced no score with both teams playing strenuous hockey first one having the best of the rub ber and then the other in the second ten stouffville notched a goal off a nice combination by lehman and lewis markham tallied a few minutes later which again tied the score three all both teams showed signs of becoming weary in the third fixture of overtime but the home boys fought on and finally tallied off clendcnnlng with but six minutes to go they wore able to hold the visitors off their nets and thus end what was
