filling a long felt gap in the towns requirements the new arena is equalled in size- by few towns in ontario and has the largest ice space of any rink be tween toronto and lindsay being equalled only by lindsay and peter- boro the ice surface is 180 feet by 75 feet in width being only some four or five feet narrower than the arena in toronto the rink is conveniently located at the south end of the park facing north at the main entrance one passes through a narrow passage where admissions are collected and coats checked to the right is the ladies waiting room and to the left the mens room and lunch counter off these rooms are small apart ments tor hockey teams above all these rooms seating for several hun dred people is iprovided also a small room for the band all with splendid view of the ice along either side of the ice is ample room for four rows of seats but these have not yet been install ed in the meantime onlookers at hockey matches will have to stand as is necessary in most rinks the lighting qualities ere particularly fine the ice space is illuminated with thirtytwo 200 watt lamps which leaves nothing to foe desired in the matter of good light the first sod for this
