pefferlaw last saturday they report a splen did trip and a jolly time but no fish since the weather was i cold on tuesday afternoon jast week an almost fatal accident occurred on yonge st north of aurora when doris foote six year eld daughter of richard j foote formerly of the ninth con whitchurch was knocked down by an automobile sustaining serious scalp wounds returning from school the car passed completely over the child but the wheels did not touch her and fortunately no bones were broken although the scalp in juries were terrible twentyseven stitches were necessary there were also severe injuries to the shoulder back and lower limb doris noticed the approaching car and thought she was well out of its way although it was being driven slowly the men were busy lighting their pipes and did not notice the little girl until the impact they acted honorably however and picked up their little victim and hurriedly drove her home and told of the accident attaching no blame whatever to the child but admitted they were not watching the road at the time they called doctors and remained until the wounds were dressed doris is now under the care of dr boulding with mrs w d jackson trained nurse and sister of mr foote in attendance doing as well as can be hoped for a peculiar feature of the accident was that there was only one child and one car in the whole mile and a quarter at
