had bought the mrs wilkinson property 7th con and is responsible for all taxes on same from fred johnston and russell feasby applying for author ship mr glaspell seconded by mr leemoved that the price e w davis was reappointed school attendance officer for 1925 mr glaspell gave notice that he will at next meeting of council move for leave to introduce a- bylaw for the appointment of poundkeepers sheep valuators and fence viewers the following resolution was un animously passed bv council that whereas road no 8 of the county road system of ontario county formerly known as the stouffville road leading from stouffville to uxbridga and said road being adopted in the ontario county road system in the year 1917 when ontario county first adopted the county road system and whereas considerable work in cutting hills and grading and gravelling on said road has been done and whereas said road carries a heavy traffic and would carry a heaver one if connected being a short route between toronto and york county in genera and the town of uxbridge and the north iut of ontario county and on through to victoria county and whereas said road no s when it reaches the boundary of on tario and york county which is also townline between oxbridge and whitchurch townships said county road ends like a broken link in ilis system as there is no more connec tion till you reach the pavements of stouffville about two and a half miles which is often in a deplorable state for traffic and whereas there litis baec-a- great deal of complaint and com- mn nnct justly soi from the traffic of ontario and york county as to said broken link noiv therefore this the municipal council of the township of uxbridge most respectfully requests that mr s h squire deputy minister of highways place this matter before the ontario highway advisory hoard to see if they can be instru mental in having this the above mentioned connection made in the two county road systems and that our clerk mail a copy of this resolu tion to s l- squire esq said de puty minister of highways tins council also requests that our county council cooperate with york county in having the above mentioned connection made and that our clerk mail a copy of this resolution to our county clerk in time for the january session of the county council this council is of the opinion that the connection could be best made by following the townline between the townships of uxbridge and whitchurch which is aisothe boun dary between ontario and york counties as it would connect with the york county system about a hitlf mile east of stouffville as then the cost could be borne equally by both counties a bylaw was passed appointing mr fred johnston and russell feasby auditors and diston mcdonald col lector of taxes and also mr ernest morgason a member of the board of health a bylaw was also given its several ix memoiuam greenbury in loving memory of mrs wm greenoury who passed away jan 16 1924 days of sorrow still come oer
