port perry on october 10th when the manager james lucas had 11650 in bonds stolen from his cash box charles lang of toronto a paroled man was last week sen tenced at whitby to three years in kingston penitentiary since then one other arrest has been made in toronto in connection with the crime the prisoner is andrew sinclair who was arrested bv the toronto and whitby constables of the bonds stolen from james lucas all but a few hundred dollars worth were registered some days after the crime he was invited by letter to come into an open field near whitby and told that if he brought 3000 the bonds would be turned over to him he was not to communicate with the police at the risk of losing the bonds because lucas took an officer to the field with him the rob bers turned and fled and a thrill ing chase took place from whitby to the kennedy road near toronto many shots were fired in the flight a couple of which took effect in the thieves car which later was aban doned subsequently mr dear loved voice is silent we have kissed her marble brow and in our aching hearts we know we have no mother now family at the present time it is hard to say whether an election will be held in stouffvillejon january 5th for reeve and councillors reeve dough erty is likely to stand for reelection while others mentioned for the posi tion are f w silvester and amos lehman should mr silvoster step forward there may be an entirely new council to elect dr dales is retiring after one year at the board while f w silversides says he 13 not likely to be a candidate also e a lunau is retiring thus there would be vacancies in the council for each of the four sejits new names mentioned on the street are walter brllllnger jos borinskyand h w sanders it looks as though thera were more positions than candidate but after nomination night the situ ation may change mr geo dows- well is being frequently mentioned for the school board and would make a capable man dr smith and tru man holdea have not decided so far to stand for reelection to this board bue mr rowbotham has announced himself as a probable candidate paisley in loving memory of our dear baby william herbert he was
