religious relation ship of the two races polygamy selfishness says mr heise is an in herent quality of the native after visiting many points of interest in cluding the tombs of cecil rhodes and dr jameson mr heises party journeyed northward for five hund red miles to victoria falls the memory of our two days stay at this place and viewing one of the seven wonders of the world will always he one of wonderful amazement to see a gorge one and a quarter miles in length or width and a waterfall of four hundred feet high with the zambesi river one mile wide dot ted with hundreds of beautiful is lands aiantled with palm and other semi tropical trees shrubs and fruits will not soon be forgotten we were on livingstone island and saw the tree whereon the great ex plorer and missionary had inscrib ed his name in the bark leaving this place mr heise visited living- stoneand trekked to macha mission established by miss h francis da vidson and miss ada engle here we were permitted to participate in acommunion service in which one hundred native christians took part our stay of nearly three were privil- the death of mrs david katcl1ff the death occurred on wednesday february 22 at the residence of her j laughter mrs sam hfsey of mrs david ratclift in her sothyear her death was due to pneumonia de ceased was a native of markham township and a daughter of the late samuel kendrick
