visited with the baptist sunday school picnic at diamond park last friday afternoon the ball game was started at 4 oclock by two teams of seven each taken from the school and the scouts against a team of scouts only scout earl beebc of toronto was referee and the scoutmaster act ed as scorer after a spirited game the all scout team won ly a score of 15 i the uinners generously divided the prize a large watermelon among all who took part in the game preparat ions for supper was the next in order and here theboy scouts gave a helping hand where need ed and then partook of the gool things provided by the teachers for the scholars and their iriends a squad of scouts were detailed to wait on the tables set for the adult friends and another squad arranged for the egg hunt and laid out the track for the races these all passed oft with a ki deal of fun and vigour two sco uts acted as starters two as judges while the rest lined the track to keep the crowd back the last two races were for sco uts only and over a fifty yard course scout eric nighswander and jack monkhousc hugh mc donald and earl beebo carried first and second in each race res pectively ice cream and distri bution of
