in a public entertainment on monday evening john r clarke lectured to an audience of about forty and on tuesday evening tho attendance was so small that mr clarke declined to proceed it was thought that the coming of bairds dramatic co on wednesday and thurs day evenings was the cause of the slim attendance but some other cause must be assignedas the crowd on wednesday night was equally small
