AUGUST 2004 Glad Park graduates receive special awards Glad Park Public School is proud to announce the names of graduating students who won special awards in lune. The following students were honoured in specific subiect areas: Math â€" Nicholas Ormrod; Language - Alanna Smith; History - Stephanie lupp; Geography - Michael Weidelich; French - Andrew Hudson; Science - Courtney Ryerse; French Immersion - Taiana Smith; Art - Man Huen K00 and Michael Weidelich; Drama - Morgan Radboume; Music - lames Potter; Athletic - Chris Boake and Taiana Smith, - Chris Boake and Taiana Smith were this year‘s vale- dictorians and Kimiko Carter sang There You'll Be to her graduating class. Numerous school pins. certificates of achievement. and honour roll awards were also handed out to the 52 graduates. On Aug. 8. Whitchurch-Stouffville Museum will once again provide the historic setting for the Antique and Classic Car Show. featuring a magnificent collection of rare automobiles from across Southern Ontario. The award for Most Improved student was shared by Ray Adams and Matthew Wideman. Leva Rouhani received the Mayor's Citizenship Award, while the Principal's Leadership Award went to Zack Stevens. Alanna Smith received the Academic Excellence/Richardson Award. The event includes heritage demonstrations. chil- dren's activities and live entertainment for all the family. including performances by Sourpuss. an acoustic roots and blues band. Visitors can also tour the historic build- ings on site and refreshments will be available through- out the day.
