Among the projects tackled that year were the refurbishing of the benches in the Stouffville Cemetery and the gathering of I500 pounds of food for the Whitchurch-Stouffville Food Bank. The club established a connection with the Rotary Club in Santos, Brazil in November I997, collecting l,l00 small toys for distribution in a children's hospital and a home for underprivileged children in Santos.
