The competition ­ dubbed KickstART ­ features youth ages 10 to 18 putting their art skills to the test to win prizes May 5 at 6:30 p.m. The event is hosted in partnership with Art Battle Canada and marks the opening of the gallery's annual exhibition called Celebrations. The evening will also include a DJ, body art and button making services, snacks and a "Selfie Snaps" video celebrating Stouffville youth. The Celebrations exhibition features artwork from local schools and is on display from May 7 to 14. Participating schools are Ballantrae, St. Brendan, St. Mark, Stouffville Christian, Progressive Montessori, St. Brigid, Oscar Peterson, Wendat Village, Whitchurch Highlands and Stouffville District Secondary.
