However, all three players all born in 2000 had to wait a while in the process. Cameron Hough was the first Stouffville resident chosen, in the 13th round of the online draft by the Sarnia Sting with the 257th selection. Listed as a five-foot, 10-inch, 152-pound forward, Hough toiled with Vaughan Kings minor midget AAA squad this past season and recorded 26 goals and 31 assists in 66 contests. In the 15th round, Tyler Davis, 16, was taken by the Owen Sound Attack with the 291st selection. A five-foot, 11-inch, 195-lb. forward, Davis played this past season with the Markham Waxers AAA minor midgets and amassed 14 goals and 23 assists in 32 tilts. With the 293rd pick in the 15th round, the Niagara IceDogs chose defenceman Justin King. Listed at six-foot, three-inches, 185 lbs., King, 16, played this past season with the Gilmour Academy Prep Lancers in Ohio. first blood on a goal by Nick Smith to take a 1-0 lead entering the first intermission. Adrian McCartney collected two assists. Helping to preserve the win was the goaltending tandem of Thomas Morgan and Dalton Lehman, who shared duties in the contest. Golfer playing for Canada in France Gajan Sivabalasingham had his name called out when the University of Waterloo handed out the hardware at their 56th annual Athletics Banquet in Waterloo Saturday. In capturing his second consecutive men's individual Ontario University Athletics championship title, the Ballantrae resident earned the Warriors Shield of Excellence. The award recognizes outstanding accomplishments by a graduated -athlete in their sport, academics and community service. Majoring in math and business, Sivabalasingham is one of six competitors who will represent Canada at the 2016 FISU (World University) Games in Brive-la-Gaillarde, France, from June 23 to 26. Another trophy for minor midgets The Stouffville Clippers AA minor midgets were up to the challenge when they played the Whitby Wildcats and skated off with a 4-2 win in their one-game, winner-take-all format in the York Simcoe/Lakeshore League Challenge in Whitby Saturday.
