HARRIS, David Alexander 9 August 1946-18 July 2015 Cherished husband of Caroline and beloved and loving father of Mark, David was a dedicated science teacher, coach and mentor to many, at Markham District High School for 30 years. He started the rugby program there, leading both boys and girls teams to numerous championships and was also actively involved in the outdoor club. With a small group of enthusiasts, David founded the Markham Rugby Football Club in 1980 and served as president for many years. In recent years, he focused his efforts on serving his community by volunteering on a number of committees, as well as being active in the Orders and Medals Research Society. David was a fine man and will be sorely missed by his family and many friends here and overseas. A celebration of his life will take place at 2 p.m. on Thursday, August 6th at Oakview Terrace, 13256 Leslie St, Richmond Hill. The family of the late Velma Flewell, wishes to express sincere appreciation for the many acts of kindness, messages of sympathy, and visits to the funeral home during our recent loss of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
