“Money raised at this year’s show will contribute to the recently announced museum visitor community centre construction project," said Dorie Billich, manager of culture and museum services at the Town of Whitchurchâ€" Stouffville. More than 400 cars will likely be displayed this year, from a 1913 Ford model T, to Packards and Auburns from the 19305, to the 19505 classic models like the ones seen in the movies American Graffiti and Crease. Stouffville’s 36th annual Antique 81 Classic Car Show takes place Sunday Aug. 9 (with a rain date of Aug. 16) from 11 am. to 4 pm. at the Whitchurch-Stouffville Museum and adjacent VandorfPark. The show features cars that are at least 25 years old and is the major fundraising event to support capital projects at the museum. Tens of thousands of dollars have been raised to help restore the heritage buildings and develop the museum site. “You’ll see cars like Novas and Gremlins that were around when I first got my driver's licence. A 19505 transport arrived one year, a hearse was displayed another time. As a special feature this year, we’ll have a Lamborghini Countache on display. This model was the most expensive car on the market in its day," said Ms This is Stouffville’s longest-running, single- day event and has always taken place at the museum, according to Stephanie Foley, curator at Whitchurch- Stouffville Museum. “From 1973 to 1978, the show was at the original museum site in Bogarttown (north side of Vivian between Woodbine and Leslie) and from then on it has been at the current museum site in Vandorf,†said Ms Foley, who has been involved in the show since 1993. 0 Weddings .
