This year, the Stouffville Terry Fox Run will hit the one million dollar milestone In 2008 our community ranked fifth out of 250 sites, raising over y$93, 000 for cancer research Last year’s participants told us they liked the community, family and fun feel to our event, but many wanted to see a change of route. As a result, the route will start and finish at the Lebovic Leisure Centre, utilizing the new Stouffville trail system and encompassing a combination of new and old neighborhoods. It can be completed by walking, cycling, rollerblading or running and people can choose from distances of two, five or 10 km. We encourage participants to collect pledges to help fulfill Terry's dream of an end to cancer. Participants can go to www. terryfoxrunorg for more information or to collect pledges online. Pledge sheets will also be available at Schell Lumber, the Lebovic Centre and the Stouffville Arena as well as many merchants in town. The run has no entry fee and requires no minimum pledge. It is non-competitive and the funds are used for all types of cancer research. With only three cents of every dollar raised going towards administration, and 10 cents used to cover fundraising costs, the Foundation is a leader in fundraising accountability.
