WUCHUICH-fl' OUPWI 1.1.2 Jim, who'retired from SDSS asa full time teacher in 2001 after working there for 20 years, has spent the past seven years teaching part time in Stouffville and elsewhere in York Region. This past school year saw him receive the Dennis Herbert Award for Contribution to Sports for his coaching efforts at Thornlea 5.5. in Thornhill, where he taught for the year. He plans to return to the school this fall. After 34 years spent coaching and encouraging student athletes in Stouffville, Jim Fletcher has taken on a artner. ghe legendary Stouffville District Secondary School teacher/coach recruited his son lay to assist him with his srxth annual summer sports camp this year. Jay Fletcher, 26, recently completed his Masters degree in education in Edinburgh, Scotland. He is seeking an elementary school teaching position in York Region. ‘lt's now Fletch and Son's Fundamental Sports Camps,†Jim quipped of the merger. 'Jay’s a big help, and he has a great sports back round.’ The younger Fletcher was named basketbalfMVP at Port Perry High School during his time there. The summer cam instructs young people aged seven through 14 in has tball and volleyball; with camps held at Stouffville elementary schools.
