We have joke and knock-knock books, riddles, tongue twisters, fractured fairy tales, funny DVDs and lots of humorous books. However, it's the people in the library that get the biggest laughs. The innocent little ones are the funniest. A little girl is trying to check out a book entitled Advice for Young Mothers. When asked why she Wants that particular book, she replies that she collects moths. A group of kindergarten children on a tour of the library are asked why it is important to be quiet in the library. A little one answers, 'lleeauee people are sleeping'. Some adult visitors'are just as silly as the kids. They bring a smile to our faces with their strange requests. The most common one being, 'Do you have the book with the blue cover, with a red leaf on the front? I read it once 20 years ago and really enjoyed it â€"â€" thought l'd read it again'. I don't think we're 0mg to be able to find that without a little more information, fikegerhaps the title or author. We don't always take time to notice and appreciate the humour we experience every day. This summer, however, is our chance to have a lau ‘ng good time, The summer rea ' rogram is entitled Lau Out Loud (LOL). The kids wlll lea Kooks to make them smile, laugh and gilgnge. The best way to build read skills is to find a way to m e reading exciting for children, an humour builds excitement. The program begins July 2 and ends Au . 23. For more information on the program and events throu out the summer, stop by the library.
