York Region and local municipal partners have worked together with various businesses, organizations and residents to develop the SM4RT Living Waste Management Master Plan. The SM4RT Living Plan identifies a need to shift the way waste is viewed, valued and managed. Without change, the amount of waste generated in York Region will continue to grow as the population increases. The plan includes more reduction and reuse efforts which will have the greatest impact.
