017 gm have flalr for dramatlcs The Stouffville Mustangs under-l7 girls won the Muskoka Early Summer Annual Tournament with a dramatic 2-1 win over Orangeville in a shootout during the ï¬nal in Bracebridge last weekend. After a scoreless ï¬rst half. the Mustangs drew ï¬rst blood with a goal midway through the second half before Orangeville tied the game with three minutes remaining in regula- tion time off a free kick. Playing two overtime periods. the two clubs remained scoreless. That set the stage for penalty kicks. In the sixth round, the Mustangs got the gameâ€"win- ning marker on a goal by Alexandra Kleinert. Helping to preserve the win was some solid goalkeeping from Dana bewis. V _ The Mustangs opened the event with a 4-0 win over Bracebridge and then battled Oran- geville to a 2-2 tie. Playing Kleinhurg in their ï¬nal pool match, the Mustangs prevailed 3-0 and punched their ticket to the ï¬nal.
