Setting his sights for a top-five finish, Hathaway's plans were delayed by a day when Mother Nature produced heavy rains to force a postponement of Saturday's main event. With the race resheduled Sunday, Hathaway started the 300-lap event in the seventh position and finished eighth. Running as high as fifth place during the race, Hathaway got caught up with a car that spun in front of him on lap 202 which resulted in some front end damage to his vehicle. After pitting for repairs, Hathaway went back out to challenge. With 50 laps to go, he was running sixth. But numerous cautions and a green white checkered finale cut Hathaway's chances short and he finished eighth in a vehicle missing some front end fibreglass. "This was a crazy weekend. We had a good top-five car today, but some crazy driving out there by some drivers beat on our car," Hathaway said.
