Not just for the sightseeing. Playing in Placentia as one of two teams from Ontario at the Eastern Canadian Softball Championships, the Power claimed the coveted title with a thrilling 4-3 come-from-behind win over Belleville in the championship final. With the contest scoreless through three innings, Belleville drew first blood and took a 1-0 lead. But the Power countered with a run in the bottom of the fifth inning when Ben Kerry's triple scored Josh Kelly. Belleville regained the lead with two runs in the top of the sixth, carrying a 3-1 lead into the bottom of the seventh. But Matt Burkholder and Kelly led off the Power's seventh inning with base hits and proceeded to advance to third and second base on a wild pitch. After Burkholder was erased at the plate and a Power batter struck out, Kevin Matthews singled to score Kelly and advanced to third on a single from Kerry. Jackson Savery then drew a walk to load the bases. That set the stage for a dramatic two-run game winning single by Spencer Bricknell. Dylan Lebold went the distance fanning five batters and surrendering three hits to pick up the win. The Power opened pool play with an 11-0 win over Waterford Valley, Nfld. with Matthews tossing a two hitter. Savery and Brandon Till each had three hits to lead the attack, while Matthews, Kerry and Bricknell also had multiple hit games. The greatest happiness for a lover is to converse with his beloved, and the greatest gift for a seeker is to become familiar with the object of his longing; that is why with every soul who is attracted to the Kingdom of God, his greatest hope is to find an opportunity to entreat and supplicate before his Beloved, appeal for His mercy and grace and be immersed in the ocean of His utterance, goodness and generosity. `Abdu'l-Bahá' Sunday School - kids Ages 2 - Grade 8 Lead Pastor: Jeff Laird Children's Pastor: Lori Attack Youth Pastor: Ian Harley Counselor: Bonnie Borchardt 6853 Main St., Stouffville 905.640.5696 Sunday Service @ 10 am Sunday Service 10:30am · Lunch to follow STOUFFVILLE York Durham Line 30 CLAREMONT Service of Worship Reception of new members Induction of new elders 10:00 a.m. Terry Fox Marathon of Hope 1:00 p.m. A friendly family church Major Mackenzie MARKHAM Brock Rd.
