In a game that was played in one hour and 20 minutes, the Athletics scored all of their runs in the fourth inning, generated by five hits, a walk and dropped fly ball in the outfield. Apart from that inning, the Athletics had just one other base runner. Mennos' starting pitcher Travis Connor matched Skelton's effort for the first three innings before the roof caved in during the Athletics' fourth inning. Jay Nesbitt relieved Connor in the fifth inning and tossed two scoreless innings. About the closest the Mennos came to breaking up Skelton's nohitter was in the seventh inning when Nesbitt smashed a line drive that was snared by a diving short stop Connor McTerman. With the loss, the Mennos concluded regular season play with an 8-16 record and await Stouffville baseball players on Ontario title team Four Stouffville youngsters were members of a Markham Mariners minor mosquito club that captured an Ontario Baseball Association championship with an 18-13 victory over the Richmond Hill Phoenix in last weekend's championship final in Brantford. Jake Rose, Logan Boutros, Matthew Hodgins and Jesse Austin were members of the Mariners that captured the OBA tier two rep title after winning six of seven games during the Labour Day weekend double elimination event. The Mariners posted wins over the Royal York Cardinals 14-11, Richmond Hill Phoenix 23-5, Whitby Chiefs 28-22, Bloordale Bombers 26-10, and Peterborough Tigers 6-5.
