In a game that was played in one hour and 20 minutes, the Athletics scored all of their runs in the fourth inning, generated by five hits, a walk and dropped fly ball in the outfield. Apart from that inning, the Athletics had just one other base runner. Mennos' starting pitcher Travis Connor matched Skelton's effort for the first three innings before the roof caved in during the Athletics' fourth inning. Jay Nesbitt relieved Connor in the fifth inning and tossed two scoreless innings.
