A World War II veteran, Harry completed numerous bombing raids over Germany with the RCA flying in a Lancaster bomber. After the war he earned a Pharmacy degree at the University of Toronto, where he met his wife and fellow pharmacist Marjorie Ellison. Together, they ran a successful drug store business. first in Toronto, then in Stouifville. While raising their two children, Harry continued his commitment to his community by serving on countless local boards and committees. His service included ing elected for 22 years to the York Region School Board, where he served 6 terms as chairman. He would later serve 6 years as Councilor for Ward 5 in Whitchurch Stouffville. Harry was also President of the Uxbridge Curling Club, President of Stouffville Minor Hockey, Treasurer of the Stouffville Legion, a founding member of the Markham Stouffville Hospital, and a member of the Unionville and Thomhill curling clubs. In 1999, Harry was named Citizen of the Year for Whitchurch Stoufl‘ville. In addition to his public life, Harry loved to travel and visited most parts of the world including a trip to Moscow in 1972 where he saw the legendary Canada Russia series in person. _ Harry will be fondly remembered by the entire Stouftville community.
