The Public Works Department reminds residents that it conducts a major watermain flushing program of the Town’s water distribution systems twice annually. The work is to be conducted daily, Monday to Friday, between the hours of 9:00 am and 3:30 pm. The process involves the flowing of fire hydrants for several minutes. The program will remove accumulated sediment from the, systems. Some temporary discolouration may occur. The presence of this sediment does not pose a health hazard. Should anyone experience any discolouration of water, please let the water run until it clears. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. It also allows Public Works crews the opportunity to check the operation of hydrants to ensure that they are in proper working order.
