That was lasi November, just weoks following her diagnosis. In January; Mrs. Yakabuski started chemotherapy. The lobular carcinoma had spread to three places within her left breast, which resulted in Mrs. Yakabuski having a radical mastectomy. A radical mastec- tomy involves the removal of the breast, underlying chest muscle and underarm lymph nodes. “I couldn’t believe this was happening to me," Mrs. Yaka- buski said.
