TOWN PROVIDES FEEDBACK TO REGION Town staff will provide feedback to York Region on the Ninth Line Environmental Assessment Addendum as part of the thirty day review / comment period. The improvements to the Ninth Lineland the jog elimination at Main Street represent a key infrastructure undertaking in the Community of Stouffville. The improvements are paramount in the effective operation of the Town’s road system. Council supports the principle of this infrastructure initiative. The report is available for review online at http://whitchurchstouffville.fileprosite.com. Select REPORT 3 on the November 18, 2008 Council agenda. The Terms of Reference for a ward boundary review was approved by Council. The Town’s current boundaries of 3 rural wards and 3 urban wards have been in place since 1971. The majority of the development within the Town has occurred in the urban wards. If nothing is done to realign the ward boundaries, this imbalance between the ward populations ~will continue to grow. A realignment of the ward boundaries is inevitable. Council approved to retain Dr. Robert I. Willliams to lead a public consultation process, develop options and make final recommendations to Council, for their consideration. If you wish to provide input into the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville Corporate IT. ' The Building Canada Fund ~ Communities Component (BCF-CC) is a joint federal and provincial program that provides funding designed to address local needs of smaller communities by contributing funding to projects that may otherwise be beyond the community’s normal budgetary capacity. Grants under this initiative will be awarded on the basis of applications evaluated on a competitive basis. Staff is confident that the “Whitchurch-Stouffville Museum Visitor / Community Centre Phase 11 Construction” project meets the eligibility criteria of the BCF-CC program and will be evaluated very favourably through the assessment process.
