Relatively speaking, the Spirit offer a bargain priced choice for entertainment, but even in this town many families are struggling. Stouffville has filled the rink for special events such as The Games of Our Lives, both 1 and 2. Once again, a big thank you to Stouffville’s Keith Acton, assistant coach of the Toron- to Maple Leafs, for both games. Over the courseof the past few years, Stouffville has filled the rink for our beloved Spirit, especially during their fantastic playofl run of 2006. The question that could be asked is, “Can we fill the rinks with specta- tors?" not “Do we?” from all of its volunteers. Enrol- ment surpasses available ice time, for now anyway. Your tax dollars are being wasted because the ambulance, the driver and the attendant are being forced to wait at emergency in the hospi- tal because the hospital refuses to receive the patient promptly from them. What was stated, simply put, was the present procedures at the emergency departments of the hos- pitals in the region, and probably all hospitals in Ontario, are causing thousands of dollars in loss of ser- vices to the EMS.
