Re: Safety ï¬rst for rural mail ser. vice in Mitchurch-Stouï¬i/ille, letter to the editor by Scott Lewis of Cana- da Post Corporation, Oct. 18. Times change at post ofï¬ce The story of Ms Ouwroulis has brought fresh news to the comâ€" munity. It really has been a while since The Sun-Tribune published such a story. Cheers and keep publishing more unconventional stories. lE'l'TERS POLICY The Sun-Ttihune welcomes your letters. The Sun-Tribune 6290 Main St. Stoumm, GM LM IG7 The Sun-Tï¬bune will lose its rep- utation as being a “bringer of local news†if it listened. Ms Ingan might as well purchase national dailies such as the National Post or Globe Mail if she wants that type of news. As for her suggestion The Sun- Tribune should instead report on the “Oct. 14 election, economic/ market woes in the United States and Canada and war in Afghani- stan†instead of the story of a strip- per from Stouffville? Ms Ouwroulis’ story and occupa- tion is part of our reality. If Ms Logan is worried about explaining to her young kids what a stripper is, then she has to ï¬nd a way to explain it metaphorically like how babies are made. (See the birds and the bees.) For sure, given Ms Ouwroulis’ occupation, her story might upset some people who are not used to getting this kind of human interest story, especially in a family-oriented community, but it just happens that she lives here. If the Sun-Tribune decided not to publish her story, then it would be unworthy of being called a true newspaper. What happened to her is news, plain and sirnple. The mere fact her case has gone to the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario is a big issue and her story deserves to be shared with readers in Ms Ouwrou- lis’ home town. I completely disagree with Ms Logan for the simple reason the person the story is about, Kimber- lee Ouwroulis,‘is a Stouffvillian her- self. As a resident of this commu- nity, she is entitled to be featured in an objective manner, which in my opinion was done well by your paper. So, the story of a stripper from Stouffville who was allegedly ï¬red because of her age shouldn’t be published at all?
