The Stouffville resident and Boyd’s Source For Sports employee has com- peted in four marathons and an Iron Man competition since she began run- ning four years ago. 1‘ She is also the driving force behind Stouffville’s first running club, hosted out of Boyd’s. “(The club) was a perfect fit for me." The thought for a running club had been around for a few years before she decided to put the plan into action. “We pui posters up around town, placed an ad (in the paper)," Ms’l‘hompâ€" son said. “The response has been wonv derful." New club for runners off to strong start She admits to being inspired by a forâ€" mer employer, The Running Rqom. The Learn To Run clinic, led by Ms Thompson, takes place TUesday, Thurs, day and Saturday. In addition to learning to run, participants also receive store discounts, weekly motivational e-mails, weekly goal and long-tenn goals sheets, tips on how to improve and specialty clinics with guest speakers. There are several clinics being run at the store, all of which Ms Thompson said have received “really great” resperlse. The newest addition to the stream of clinics is a Mom's Stroller Run, taking place Wednesdaysi An open run takes place every Saturâ€" day at 8:15 am for anyone who wants to meet running partners.
