In October 2003, Town Council ad- opted Official Plan Amendment # 113 (CPA 113), which created land use designations and associated poli- cies for those lands situated with the Vandorf-Preston Lake Study Area that are within the Oak Ridges Moraine. Essentially, CPA 113 was a confor- mity exercise to bring these lands into compliance with the Province’s Oak Ridges Moraine Conservation Plan. OPA 113 is still before the Province awaiting approval. This Amendment applies to non-Mo- raine Conservation Plan land use desâ€" ignations and policies that are situat- ed both inside and outside of the Oak Ridges Moraine. The purpose of the proposed Amend- ment is to incorporate the recommen- dations/ conclusions arising from the background analysis that has been completed for this area New land use policies and designations will be con- sidered which are designed to guide and direct development / redevelopâ€" ment proposals. for the next twenty year period. The Amendment will establish policies to: - 0 Identify and protect environmentally sensitive areas, 0 Establish comprehensive area wide infrastructure (water and sanitary sewer) improvement policies which are designed to facilitate future development, 0 Establish a hierarchy of designations to guide future residential, mixed use, and employment land use activities, and, ° Establish urban design and community development principles. TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Whitchurchâ€"Stouffville will convene a Public Meeting under the authority of Sections 17 and 21 of the Planning Act to consider a proposed Official Plan Amendment. This Amendment deals with lands within the Vandorf-Preston Lake Secondary Plan Study Area, and specifically, Non-Moraine Conservation Plan Land use policies and designations. The Public Meeting will be convened on Tuesday February 19th, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers, Town Municipal Offices, 37 Sandiford Drive, 4th Floor. PROPOSED AMENDMENT; The Amendment applies to those lands situated both within the Oak Ridges Moraine and outside of the Moraine. The lands subject to the Amendment are noted on the map which forms part of this Notice £113ng PARTICIPATIQE: Any person may attend the Public Meeting to make written or oral submissions on the proposed Official Plan Amendment. Should you be unable to attend the Public Meeting, your written submission will be received up to the time of the meeting. Nicholas Stratas scored twice for the Clippers while Nathan James and Eric Gainsbrook added singles. The Stouffville juvenile Clippers advanced to the A Division semifinals of the 35th annual North American Silver Stick Championships in Samia before falling 5-4 to the Pelharn Panthers. In reaching the semifinals, the Clip- pers opened the tournament with a 3-2 loss to Thorold. Chris Normandeau. Stephen Brown, Corey Thompson and Martin (Iushing each had a goal for the Clippers. Gainsbrook and ex-Stouffville Spirit forward Kyle Miller- accounted for the Clippers’ goals. The Clippers' fortunes continued to improve when they faced the Pan- thers in their final preliminary game as Brown, Stratas and Landon Wideman scored in a 3â€"2 win and-eamed a berth in the semifinal. Despite falling short, Clippers head coach Brent Gibson was proud of the effort his charges gave. “I thought we had a real good week- end.
