audience of about 140 had every right to have been justly proud of the youngsters excluding such featured guests as jean hammond and anne simons the spotlight was on heather morris tim brazier karen smith doug lang and paul brodie jean ham mond is not only the choirs accompaniest but she was introduced by choir director barbara sibbick as the guest artist anne simons is not only a charming singer but she and her family have just moved to stouffville the evenings programme got off to a i harmonious start with the choir singing out son of joy followed by paul simons the candy man the choir followed with here comes santa claus and a solo by karen smith i saw mommy kissing santa claus it was excellent the choir chanted the twelve days and jean hammond concluded the first part with a disabled an organization which has been active in the stouffville area for 3 years three mornings a week and monday evening handicapped participants arrive by bus at shadow creek farms 7th line south of hwy 47 to ride their mounts around the indoor arena there are 6 horses specially chosen for their quiet tem perament in the card stable riding instructors who supervise the lessons are all volunteers as are the executive board of directors physiotherapists and organizational help who come from all over metro and surrounding town ships in 1971 card raised 14000- in donations to finance its therapy program which costs the organization 192 per year for each rider volunteers are in constant attendance during the riding sessions four assistants help patients with mounting and dis mounting and handlers lead the horses at all times participants range in age from 6 to 72 riding gives some the incentive to use every responsive nerve and muscle it helps to improve balance muscular
