freezer on cold winter days the temperature is always warm and the gossip lively sooner or later everyone in locust hill and for miles around has recourse to the general store and its goodies the shelves are crammed with all manner of wares from teapots to milking machine parts shredded wheat to those long winter woolies cigarettes to candies and from bread to bolts there is none of the sterile impersonality of the big chain self serve store in the general store there is personal caring sharing and helping there is no rush or hurry none of the heres your groceries give me your monev and get out the local store is part of our heritage it is a holdover from the trading posts of long gone years it is as much a part of our community now as it was then and we still need it as much mr
