award the tender to michael wade construction ltd with a bid of 670600 some 6000 higher than west york construction a special resolution was introduced by councillor murray henderson head of the arena committee mr henderson reviewed the various factors leading to increased costs to the point where all the tenders originally submitted were above the towns budget figure it was decided not to award the tender to wade construction on the advice of the town solicitor he said he described the changes made bringing the cost down somewhat as not substantially detracting from the building itself i feel this gives the type of building that will be useful to people in the markham unionville area he stated mr hendersons motion seconded by councillor norm tyndall would have the effect of awarding the contract to west york at the lower price councillor roy muldrew objected strongly to the deleted phrase this gives everybody the im pression that it was discussed at a meeting of council in com
