junior farmers worthy winners at cty fairs east york match on markham farm by aa wall agricultural representative for york region york region the fairs in york are finished for the year it was a little damp at woodbridge but generally our fairs prospered this year with good weather and good attendance some of the classes for farm products at fairs arent all that significant anymore to the commercial industry but that doesnt really matter the big thing is that the shows serve a valid purpose for both exhibitors and spec tators for all i know the guy showing tarn- worth pigs at wood- bridge may be doing something just as rewarding as the man in our corn com petition growing 150 bushels per acre when i think of spectators that racetrack full of school buses at markham has to be important fairs perhaps are our best chance to keep a healthy relationship going with our urban neighbors boys and girls in york with 4h projects work towards their local fair all year livestock crops and displays are all put to the final test with the members ability to show a big part of it some of the mem- 4 business directory licensed public accountants chiropractors ontario land surveyors j s
