prove he feels as good as he looks isaac catherwood needs no introduction to the natives of ux bridge with the ex ception of a 4 year stint in the west hes lived all his life in the area mr catherwood was born on cone 7 at pine grove the son of george and mary catherwood and the youngest in a family of ten at age 21 he went farming out in weyburn saskat chewan but later returned to the home place where he remained until 1951 isaac catherwood is best known for his long career in municipal politics a period that spanned 20 years he served on uxbridge twp council two separate occasions including 8 years as reeve he retired in 1934 and assumed the post of welfare of ficer both for the town and township the hottest elec tion he recalls was between himself and the late george todd of goodwood the first contest was what mr catherwood termed a surprise and mr todd won the next time around the catherwood name was again on the ballot and he regained the position and his pride we were both tories but todd made the liberals mad and i got their vote he said we nearly came to blows he recalled not quite but almost mr catherwood can remember con gregating around the old wood stove in
