entry in international beauty pageant mrs margaret jones a long time resident of the claremont myrtle brooklin area passed away suddenly on tuesday june 22 1971 at her residence 16 baldwin street brooklin the late mrs jones was born north of claremont in uxbridge township may 12 1881 on the farm of her parents the late james and rachael evans mrs jones is predeceased by two husbands thomas wilson of claremont whom she married in 1901 and joseph bert jones of mt zion whom she married in 1934 mrs jones is also predeceased by her daughter doris and two sons gordon and lome and one granddaughter lorna mrs kenneth trow she is survived by one daughter mrs percy maynard nora of brooklin and two sons ernest of toronto and lome of mt zion she is also survived by a sister mrs james briscoe ethel of claremont and a brother ross evans of west hill five grandchildren and eight great grand children the late mrs jones was a member of the claremont baptist church and a member in the choir for many years she took an interest in all activities of the community the service was held june 25 in the w c town funeral chapel conducted by rev albert luck of the claremont baptist church interment was in the claremont union cemetery the pallbearers were grandsons ross maynard charlie johnston grant jones murray jones ken neth stickwood and ronald jones the many beautiful floral tributes and the wide circle of relatives friends and neighbors attending the funeral showed the high esteem in which mrs jones was held library volunteers required whitchurch- stouffville public library will be closed to the public from august 3 to august 14 reopening august 17 during that time the regular staff will be working on the revision of the card catalogue at present the catalogue is not a reliable guide to the book stock in past years some books were withdrawn and their cards are still in the catalogue other books still on the shelves are not recorded a catalogue is an essential ardent athlete with horseback riding her favorite holiday pasttime a host of pets including a 300 pound st bernard called king occupy her attention along with three rabbits two guinea pigs and a budgie named tweedie debbie has done some modelling and may possibly pursue this career further she also enjoys acting but maybe just maybe she may train to be a teacher luckv kids home from victoria mr hume mac- pherson former lemonville resident and wellknown in stouffville has been visiting in the area mr and mrs mac- pherson now live in victoria british columbia while here he staved at the home of mr and mrs cliff l e m on rupert avenue and mr and mrs jim nauta lemonville he also called on his son donald in paris out of victoria mr macpherson agrees its a wonderful place to live but its still nice to come back and see my friends mrs macpherson is also on vacation enjoying a a trip to scotland no use staying home and making porridge for one he said attend service rev and mrs john
