claremont was distinctly shocked on satur day when word spread throughout the village of the sudden passing of wilbur gleeson mr gleesons body was discovered slumped in his car in the garage at the fred evans home where he has been living at his side was his faithful boston bull dog who had also suc- sumbed the late wilbur gleeson was a mail clerk on the cpr for many years and had retired some time ago to make his home with his mother mrs mary gleeson following her passing he con tinued on alone in the home for some time until taking up resid ence at the home of his sister mrs fred evans lackey in charge of the program south farms want exemption from police costs farmers in the southern part of pickering township have given notice that they mean to apply for exemption against the police costs which are now to be borne entire ly by that part of the municipality lying south of the 3rd concession the police levy was removed from the northern section of the township where it was felt it was not needed while the heavily popu lated urban south received all the benefit of the police protection and should be made to shoulder the cost now the south farmers are pro testing being
