soccer season has offi cially kicked off in whitchurch- stouffville more than 1000 players are involved ranging in age from under five to adults the bulk of the soccer populace is between five and eight with over 600 boys and girls involved its a sport that keeps on grow ing president mark kozakholland says as the towns population increases so does the soccer pro gram the reason for this kozakholland speculates is because new families moving in primarily from the greater toronto area are already conditioned to the game were here when they arrive he notes on a given evening its not unusu al for games to be going on at several different parks including bruces mill conservation area near gormley in stouffville and ballantrae contests sometimes involve more than 100 players with club president kozakholland said the gender split is about 5050 but he predicted this will change in favour of girls a few years down the road boys staying power isnt as great he claims adult game is
