classes and enjoyed fencing this is far from a typical teenagers idea of summer fun butit was all part of a sixweek course she took at york university that covered all aspects of opera ms parkins involvement in this course was made possible by a 1500 bursary she won in the 2003 york region celebration of the arts talent search the 17yearold aurora high school student used 1100 of that money for the opera course and plans to put the rest toward her schooling next year when she begins a bachelor of music degree in vocal performance at the university of toronto the deadline to apply for
