churchs con gregation have paid off the first shovel should go into the ground this spring for the churchs 73000squarefoot extension and other renovations theres been a baptist church at the stouffville and kennedy roads site since 1848 the present building has had at least two additions in the late 1980s and the 1990s but the church is again bursting at the seams on an average sunday morn ing about 450 people come to worship and another 300 or so adults and children attend sunday school there is also a youth ministry with about 100 young people coming to the church thursdays for talent shows karaoke sports and guest speakers in addition to associate pastor bill thornton senior pastor bob flemming and youth minister jay sandiford there are three other ministers at the church to handle music the childrens ministry and counselling the church has been raising funds mainly through congrega tion members for almost four years for the project mr thornton noted with funds to
